Household Hazardous Waste Collection - Right at Your Doorstep!

Greater Lebanon Refuse Authority is a municipal solid waste landfill, therefore GLRA is NOT allowed to accept Household Hazardous Waste for disposal at its facility located on 1610 Russell Road.

However, GLRA sponsors an

Lebanon County Residents can schedule a home pick-up of household hazardous waste just by calling

How Does It Work?

Step 1 - Request a Collection By Phone or Online

• Schedule By Phone 1-800-742-5542 Extension 123

When a resident calls our Household Hazardous Waste Hotline, several questions are asked including the caller's address, and the type and amount of materials they have for collection. Resident will be asked to submit the $15 Co-Payment over the phone to complete the scheduling process.

• Schedule Online Through Website

When a resident is ready to schedule a pick-up online with MXI Environmental Services Lebanon County Program, the resident will be asked to enter information including address, phone number, email address, and the type and amount of materials they have for collection. When scheduling online, the resident will also be required to submit the $15 Co-Payment as part of the scheduling process, or the pick-up cannot be scheduled.

Step 2 - Scheduled Collection Date

A pick-up date is scheduled over the phone, or on the website, based on the next available collection day. The program is fully explained and safety procedures are reviewed. A Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Kit is mailed to the resident's home prior to the collection date. The Kit can hold up to 75 pounds of HHW securely inside. All HHW materials MUST fit inside the HHW Kit. No HHW materials may be left outside the HHW Kit. All HHW materials must be securely contained inside the HHW Kit.

Step 3 - Assigned Collection Date Pick Up

On the scheduled collection date, the resident places the HHW Kit on their doorstep by 7:00 AM and MXI Environmental Services Inc. will collect the eligible Household Hazardous Waste materials directly from the resident's doorstep between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

Step 4 - Waste Transportation

HHW materials will be transported by MXI Environmental Services Inc. to its hazardous waste facility located in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, where it will be sorted and packed for recycling or proper disposal.
