Purchasing Compost

The Greater Lebanon Refuse Authority (GLRA) has developed a compost operation that allows county residents to bring in green waste and clean wood for a reduced fee, in return they can buy plant bedding and wood mulch at a low price.

Accepted Materials

The GLRA accepts leaves, grass clippings, tree trimmings, shrubbery clippings and branches as green waste. The Greater Lebanon Refuse Authority also recycles Christmas trees at the appropriate season. This green waste is then composted at the GLRA Compost Facility which produces a high quality plant bedding.  Plant Bedding can be purchased by residents for $12 per cubic yard.

The GLRA also accepts wood pallets, untreated and unpainted raw lumber,  as clean wood. Clean wood is also composted at GLRA's Compost Facility to produce a decorative top cover to be used around lawns, homes and on flower beds.  Wood mulch may also be purchased by residents for $12 per cubic yard.

BOTH Plant Bedding and Wood Mulch are available to the public for purchase.

The price is $12 per cubic yard for either material. A tarp is required and loads must be covered.
